Here are some similar projects I looked at to get the idea of how I would want to structure my documentary. This additionally provided valuable insight into the pace of the editing and way in which I want to tell the story.
- uses V.O (similar techniques to what I want to accomplish)
- this also employs typography and motion graphics which I want to use alongside animation
- uses extensive B-roll/ stock footage
- telling a personal story with visuals
- upbeat music to keep the audience engaged
- slow piano soundtrack when the tone of V.O changes
Using a variety of people with different backgrounds:
- this was a very heart warming piece, by using elderly people the perspective on love is broadened through their different experiences
- this is made to be less serious and more casual and funny
- telling the story of six different individuals through the same topic
This is a perfect example of what my intentions are for the project. I want to use people of different ages and cultures to explore their experience of love.
- it is simple but effective
- uses monotone music
- focuses on the people
The story in my documentary however, is different, as I am exploring how the perception of love changed for people from their childhood to now. That way, exploring the journey of life and the form it takes throughout ones life.
