Animation Development

This version of design was difficult to animate and caused me many problems, such as disconnection in the limbs and inability to create rigs.



Problems I faced:

- limbs disconnecting

- not rotating properly

- too many controls to keep an eye of

- takes long to rig



Thus, I decided to change the character design and followed the tutorial below with a different method of rigging. Which does not require to build a skeleton and makes the animating process easier.





My second design:


This design was faster and easier to make overall. Additionally, I like the visual style of it, thus may end up using this style for the animation.

The animation took faster to make and although not perfect yet, this method is suitable for me to use for the final piece. The animation in the documentary will be simple and wont require as much in depth keying. Therefore, I will most certainly go with this style and technique.
